Pohangina Valley, Manawatu looking out to the Ruahine Ranges.  Auto focus seemed to grap focus ok.  Very impressed with the image noise quality.  For 4000 ISO this low key image shows amazing noise control.

ISO 2000, 400 mm, f/4, 1 exposure at 1/8 seconds for the trees, shadows and sky details and second exposure at 1/1600 seconds for the moon details, aperture priority mode, live view manual focus

2 exposures combined for this photo to capture enough detail in the trees and sky as well as the moon. Both exposures imported into Capture One Pro 8, adjusted to recover highlights and shadows with some selective sharpening and clarity adjustment layers.  Both exposures exported to Photoshop CS 5 for final layering and edit.

Waihi Falls, 14kms off the Weber Rd between Dannevirke and Weber on the Waihi Stream. Between heavy rain showers the dusk produced a beautiful light and while the sunset was to the left of centre of the image direction, the low clouds above reflected this awesome light down over the wet rocks of the waterfall and onto the water. I tried a neutral density grad filter to grab the sky but was not happy with the results so I took a second exposure for the sky detail.

I was tiki-touring up the Turakina Valley, and saw this lovely scene on the Turakina River. The top of the water fall with the sunlight playing in the depth of the image makes it I think. A few minutes later the sunlight went off the river in the background so this was my pick of several images.

Waihohonu Stream is another stream flowing from Mt Ruapehu, across the Desert Road and down to the Tongariro River. The sun was very bright in the white water and with an ND8 neutral density filter I had the camera set to f22 and ISO50 to get the slowest shutter speed I could to smooth the water flow.
