Pohangina Valley, Manawatu looking out to the Ruahine Ranges.  Auto focus seemed to grap focus ok.  Very impressed with the image noise quality.  For 4000 ISO this low key image shows amazing noise control.

New Zealand native parrot has been visiting our valley over the last few weeks, popping in again yesterday to our property for an awesome photo op!  It very graciously sat in our walnut tree long enough for me to run inside, and return with camera and lens for a few nice pics.

The inherant shallow depth of field and the beautiful buttery bokeh a quality lens produces creates stunning effect. The diffuculty was the breeze, enough to move the flowers a few milimetres in and out of focus so it took a few shots to get this one. Finally I used a flash to “stop” the anther movement capturing them “in focus”.
